Dog Vaccinations

Vaccinating your pet regularly is important to protect them against infections and diseases which can shorten or impact the quality of their life.

Pets need to be vaccinated from an early age, as many infectious diseases are still prevalent in the UK.  Up to date pet vaccinations is the only way to be sure your pet is protected from these diseases for life. Your vet can advise you on the vaccinations that are best and provide you with a schedule. The first vaccines are usually carried out at eight and ten weeks old and involve a course of two injections. Your Vet will also provide a full health check to make sure they are healthy. They then require a booster vaccination at twelve months of age.

The diseases these vaccinations protect against:

  • Canine Parvovirus

  • Canine distemper

  • Infectious hepatitis

  • Leptospirosis

  • Kennel cough/Parainfluenza

Cat Vaccinations

Cat vaccinations are crucial to protect them from severe infectious diseases and transmitting them to other animals in your area. Several dangerous diseases continue to infect cats throughout the UK including cat flu and feline leukaemia. This is especially true if you intend to let your kitten or cat roam freely outside. Until your cat is fully vaccinated you should keep them indoors.

Vaccinations usually commence from around nine weeks old. They require a course of two injections three weeks apart. Booster vaccines are required to continue immunity as this can fade over time.

The diseases these vaccinations protect against:

  • Cat Flu

  • Infectious Enteritis

  • Feline Leukaemia

  • Chlamydophila felis

Note: Due to restriction on Kennel space for large dog breeds, we are currently not able to offer neutering/hospital treatment for large breed dogs. We are planning to incorporate this in the near future once our facilities have changed.
